Thank-you Mel & Justin for allowing me to capture your family portraits.
Location- Wauchope Nsw
Mel approached me a little while ago with an "out of the box" location idea and I loved it as I had always looked at this location as a "cool" place to shoot but didn't think anyone would ever be interested in it, so yesterday afternoon just before sunset we headed off too capture some family portraits for this awesome family. I must admit I had to chase little 1 year old Nixon around to try and get a shot of him but 4 yr old Lincoln was quite the little model and totally rocked his shots.

It took a little while for Alex to warm up to the idea of cake and he did make a few runs for it during the session, but once he got a taste for that icing he loved it and had too use his fork to eat it.
Alex you are too adorable :-) I am lucky enough too call this little miss my niece and while she was staying over one weekend I decided it was the perfect opportunity to get the camera out and capture little miss 4's stunning natural beauty and her red hair as i am certain that as she gets older she won't love it as much.
This little one has an attitude all of her own and growing up around two brothers and boy cousins she has been the only girl for a little while so when little miss Harper was born so was a big girl cousins to spoil her. Milly hasn't always liked me taking her photo and I have them too prove just how much she hated it starting with her newborn photo's but we shall leave them in the vault for another day, but after Miss baby Harper had her photo-shoot done she was keen to have one just for herself, and although she most likely thinks Aunty Mel is crazy with the camera in hand all the time i am sure she won't think that when she is older. Little Miss is now looking forward to a second girl cousin to spoil this year once she arrives in December :-) I was lucky enough to be able to capture Samantha & Bradly's wedding in Qld earlier this year and as it was a surprise wedding, their children didn't get to go along, so Sam decided to arrange something fun for their whole family and so the kids got a chance to get in on the fun, so what better way too celebrate than with a paint trash the dress that involved the entire family and some.
I was great it was fun and best of all it was messy. Enjoy Makeup artist Erin Thompson I had the lovely Hayley from Stained In Ink Photography in for a back to nature maternity session. I've known Hayley and her husband for many many years now so I am truly blessed to be able the capture the joy and excitement of their second pregnancy.
There are so many amazing images from this session and I had a blast capturing them. I'd like to thank the owners of this private property for allowing me the use of it and a massive shout out to Erin for assisting on the shoot you always make it fun and have me laughing like crazy. A special mention to Hayley's mum who made all these amazing maternity gowns you will see throughout her sneak peeks. I've been lucky enough to photograph this little cutie since she was born and as she has grown so have I in my photography, she has pretty much always given me grief whenever I have tried to photograph her but this day she wanted her very own special photo's just like little miss Harper her baby cousin did so who am I to disappoint and wow just wow she is the most photogenic little girl I have worked with and that hair oh my gosh that hair, so much of it and extremely beautiful and lovely out around her face.
I hope you enjoy the shots of this little girl as much as I do xo I first approach Amy about doing a glamor session for me earlier on in the year and as I have already had Amy in for a bridal boudoir session followed by her wedding I knew she had a natural beauty about her that the camera and I love, so I was delighted when she said she would, so after we booked in the date I went about planning and deciding how I wanted this session to flow and what theme I wanted to embrace, that's when I decided to go with Street glamor, so I let the planning and ideas being.
I decided to invite along some fellow photographer friends to join in on the fun while learning at the same time and even though I sprung this on Amy last minute she didn't complain and totally rocked her shoot but you can already see that. Photography isn't about what's wrong or right its about getting in there taking a shot and going do I love it or if not what can I do to make it better, photography is about having rules but than breaking every single one of them. My advice is always if you love it than that's all that matters, there will be plenty of people who do but than also some that don't but your work is yours so just be true to yourself. A massive shout out to the following Makeup artist Erin Thompson from Studio Lou in Wauchope Hair Stylist Tankea Thomas for Wauchope Model Amy Kearns And Janine & Aaron for coming along to enjoy the shoot with. In February of this year Janine from Evoke Photography and Portraits invited me along to Dakina's project shoot along with some other amazing local photographers in our area. We laughed we photograph we learn and most of all we had fun doing so with like minded people.
Our model Dakina a 13 year old girl was amazing and did all that we asked of her, I mean its hard enough for a model to to take directions without 5 photographers telling her what to do but she rocked it and is a true natural. I'd like to thank Janine for popping this project together and also Dakina's parents who not only allowed us to shoot on the beautiful property but that also helped out with the horse they let us use and of course giving the permission to capture your amazingly beautiful daughter, I also got a shot of her equality beautiful younger sister with her horse. Janine & myself will also be putting together future project/workshop shoots were you can book in to learn from the both of us and have loads of fun doing so, our styles are both completely different yet the fundamentals of taking the image are the same, we will be happy to teach all that we haven learn, while providing you with something amazing to capture. For information will be provided once we have arranged the next project shoot, if you would like to be notified please contact me with an email at [email protected] and leave your details so you can be sure to be invited to the next one. Model- Dakina Makeup artist- Erin Thompson for studio lou Hair Stylist- Shenade Benjamin from hair shenanigans Thank-you to all involved and that helped out on the day. Earlier this year I decided I wanted to do a project shoot and as the carnival was in town I thought what a perfect place to get creative, so I found these amazing models Vaida & Tyhra who were both keen and excited to go along with the dramatic vision I had in mind and we had a blast while doing so.
The girls weren't fussed with the extra attention they were receiving while out in the public and this is what helped create some fun shoots. Thankyou to my models- Vaida & Tyhra Makeup artists- Erin Thompson Hair Stylist- Taneka Thomas |
